Question of the Day

Why the hell do people preface a question with, "Question for you..."

Do I need to brace for impact? Will I be unable to answer the question if I'm expecting a statement? Do I need to wash my hands first?

The other day someone started with, "Quick question for you..." and then the question oozed out so painfully slow. I wanted to throw my computer monitor at their head.

"Not quick enough," I snapped. The person laughed, but I was hoping it might be a wake up call for people to just get to the point already.

The other one is when they start out saying: In all honesty...

What, the other stuff you say we can assume will be a blend of lie and truth!
